January 2023 has seen a number of changes both at Miami Beach Brokers®, and in my own life (and I am sure, many of yours as well). The New Year always seems to inspire us to make changes, try new things, and even choose a new path, whether it be personally, professionally, or spiritually…or perhaps all three. Oftentimes we fall short of our aspirations or experience failure(s) in the resolutions we choose to make for the coming year, but in my case, I never give up and would prefer to “Shoot for Mars and Land on the Moon” than never get off the ground at all. My advice is the same for everyone, “Always strive to be the best version of yourself you can be!” and not delay in taking action(s) towards those goals because “the pursuit of perfection often results in the achievement of procrastination”. Not doing something is as much of a choice as taking action.
This month I committed to several things, some very mundane and even required (such as filing taxes and getting 1099s out to my agents). Amongst these commitments are:
- I started a YouTube Channel, @MiamiBroker. Yes, the current format is rough and features me completely unscripted, but I am seizing the opportunity to learn new skills (such as Apple’s iMovie, and the app called Canva). My goal is to build a library of playlists across a variety of topics that are directly real estate related, and those that are more Lifestyle related. Concepts like “Home” are different and yet in many ways the same for most people. However, your home’s location has a tremendous impact on your lifestyle and it is my intention to cover the Southeast Florida Real Estate Markets, the Lifestyles of Southeast Florida (including Things to Do in Miami), and subjects related to both Home and Lifestyle, such as product reviews on things from Cold Press Juicers in your kitchen to Solar Panels on your roof. Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE and let me know your thoughts, suggestions, and critiques in the comments section below each video. New videos are forthcoming…I have been out for over a week with a terrible cough, but I am on the mend and expect to be able to push out more content very soon!
- I began the transition to eXp Realty and that process should be complete within the next couple of weeks as the State of Florida processes my paperwork and eXp Realty finishes what they need to do on their side. I will be retaining the Miami Beach Brokers® brand, and I expect the Miami Beach Brokers® Team will continue to grow with the help of the greater organization. I feel relieved in many ways because I will no longer need to do a great deal of administrative work that is normal for brokers with agents. The company has a lot of training available, they handle the accounting, they handle the provision of Information Technology Tools, etc. I am free to focus on new endeavors, real estate related and not.
- While I am certainly committed, I have not made very much progress toward my Health & Life Insurance licenses this month. This is a whole other subject I am going to discuss and I will certainly cover why I am going for these licenses and why I think every Realtor should consider doing the same! More on this soon!
- The ongoing commitment I made to be a great Dad for my little girl! Before she was even born, I imagined all the fun and things I would want to do with this little person. Today, I love taking my little princess on dates around the town. She is my world and will be one of my regular co-stars on my YouTube Channel. Last Father’s Day, I wrote an article entitled “A Happy Father’s Day Message from Christopher J. Lazaro”. I encourage all Fathers to read it and see if they agree with me on my perspective that being a Father and being a Dad are two different things.
- I have, unfortunately, not yet really started my fitness regiment this year (although I have done a lot more walking because the weather has been so fair), but as I recover from this horrible cough I am hoping to make it a point to not only focus on this, but document my progress in another playlist I will start on my YouTube Channel.

A regular format for market updates in Southeast Florida is in the works, especially for the Miami Beach Real Estate Markets. I have a bit of catchup to do as I have not yet put anything out for January, although, I have a lot of market reports I have done for customers over the past month so I might put out a steady trickle of content based on what I have already researched and done (as result of my profession), while I work on putting out reporting on the broader, general markets. As soon as I have my accounting done, taxes submitted, and 1099s mailed, I will be hitting this pretty hard. Expect A LOT more updates over the next few weeks!
