Gulf Stream is a Palm Beach Town along State Road A1A, straddling the Intracoastal Waterway and also claiming a part of the barrier island that it shares with Delray Beach to the south and Ocean Ridge to the north. Gulf Stream retains many of its most historic characteristics including original homes from the 1920s. In addition, it is the only place where the tree canopy of over 300 Australian Pines still exists. These trees were planted by the State of Florida in 1916 to address the high winds along the coast, from Jacksonville to Miami along what is today State Route A1A.
The Town of Gulf Stream features an extremely affluent community ranking in the top 20 most wealthy areas in the United States. Residents enjoy a safe community, an excellent school district, and the benefits of both Intracoastal and Beach life.
With less than one thousand residents, according to the US 2020 Census, this is one of the more exclusive communities in all of the country where listings for sale or for rent rarely become available.
