A University of Florida report indicates that while Florida home prices and rents have stabilized, there remains a significant shortage of affordable housing, particularly for the workforce and seniors. The median single-family home price was $411,600, with rents averaging $1,555. Despite increased construction, many Floridians face cost burdens, spending a large portion of their income on housing. In 2023, Florida produced 138,717 single-family homes and 50,547 new apartments, but affordable rental options are still limited, especially for those earning below 60% of the area median income.
